Forest and Field Farm is a small farm in Oswego, Illinois. We offer a charming, picturesque venue for private sunflower photo shoots, elopements, small wedding ceremonies, engagement photos, and holiday pictures. Our farm provides affordable packages, tailored to individual preference.
​Our farm offers sunflower fields for private photo sessions between July and September and retired thoroughbred horses on the property for holiday photos. Our farm also has a striking gray barn with cathedral ceilings for engagement and wedding photos. We offer several options for elopements and small outdoor wedding ceremonies, designed to fit the couple's wishes.
Our Services
Elopements + Small Weddings
Forest and Field Farm is an intimate, charming setting for elopements, small ceremonies, and wedding photo shoots. We also offer mini receptions tailored to specific requests, including champagne toasts and cake parties. Located in Oswego, Illinois, our farm is near Naperville and Aurora. We are easily accessible from I-88, Route 30, and Route 31. Our small farm is family-owned and provides a charming setting for wedding ceremonies. We offer affordable venue pricing for couples on a budget, or for those who simply want an intimate ceremony in a quaint, farm setting. Couples are free to bring their own officiant, or we can officiate the ceremony as part of a wedding package. Our venue is located in Kendall County, Illinois. Our property has a cathedral ceiling barn with two resident horses, as well as sunflower fields between July and September. Couples are free to integrate the barn or sunflowers into their ceremony or utilize our open gray gazebo that overlooks the cropland. We work with each couple to accommodate their specific vision for their ceremony, and couples are welcome to bring non-permanent décor to match their design theme. Sunflower Photo Shoots
The crown jewel of our farm has always been our sunflower fields, which bloom between July and September. We plant multiple lots of sunflowers and many different varieties, including skyscrapers for height and pro-cut assortments for picking bouquets. Our sunflowers are planted at different times to maximize the longevity of the flowers for each season. Our sunflower lots are available for private photo shoots by appointment. The sunflowers have paths mowed between them to ensure walkability through the patches. Once reserved, a specific sunflower lot is reserved solely for the booked party. We do not allow multiple bookings in the same lot to prevent interference with a reserved photo shoot. Our private sunflower photo shoots are relaxing and allow guests to take many photos, without the general public in the background. The sunflower lots are available for booking with a deposit. Guests can choose to take their own photos or bring a professional photographer. All are welcome for general photo shoots, engagement photos, wedding photos, graduation photos, and family photos.
Engagement Photos and Marriage Proposals
Our scenic farm provides the perfect backdrop for engagement photos. We are happy to tailor a venue package to fit specific goals for the photos, such as sunflowers or horses in the background, as well as photos with our coach house barn doors for a rustic theme. Holiday Horse Photos
Our farm is home to two retired Thoroughbred horses, who are happy to take part in photo shoots. For safety, we keep them in halters and photos can be taken while holding their lead rope over their fence. Our horses are perfect for family holiday photos, as well as wedding photos. Preservation and Giving.
Forest and Field Farm is dedicated to preserving our small farm and a portion of the proceeds from our events are used to maintain the farm. We purchase seeds, plant, and harvest our sunflowers ourselves, as well as care for our retired horses. We also grow pumpkins each season for donation to local food pantries.
Our farm is a working farm, not just a photo venue. We strive to offer affordable packages to help others enjoy their special event without diving into debt or engaging in stressful planning.
